Linking Digital Libraries
With contributions from CANARIE Inc , Concordia University and EEDO Knowledgeware Corp, Kontentsu is doing research and development in topic-maps for the exchange of large digital collections on broad-band networks. Topic maps create a semantic web for knowledge retrieval. They capture subjects and their relationships in a way that is implementation-independent. They convey knowledge about information through a superimposed layer, or map, of the information.
