Topic Maps for Knowledge Retrieval

A topic map creates a semantic web for knowledge retrieval in large XML content-management systems. It captures subjects and their relationships in a way that is implementation-independent. It conveys knowledge about information through a superimposed layer, or map, of the information.

We develop topic maps incorporating concepts from traditional indexing, library science and knowledge representation. Combining this with our knowledge of advanced XML techniques in linking and addressing, case-based reasoning, and metadata, we develop real-world solutions for knowledge management in global corporations. Topic maps are based on two public standards: ISO 13250 19 May 2002 and XTM 1.0.
